A voice for Kajiado. A place for every story.
Broadcasting in Swahili and Maa from Kajiado Town, Bus Radio creates space for local questions, culture and community dialogue.

Sauti ya Kajiado means the Voice of Kajiado. It is both Bus Radio’s slogan and the idea at the centre of its work: people should be able to hear their experiences, concerns and aspirations reflected in local media.
Bus Radio 99.9 FM is a community radio station and community-based organisation operating from Ildamat ward in Kajiado Town. Its 2026 company profile and World Radio Day report record its beginnings in 2017.
Broadcasting in Swahili and Maa helps the station connect across the communities it serves. Programmes create room for local leadership discussions, culture, livelihoods, youth, women’s participation and entertainment.
The profile describes leaders joining studio discussions and speaking with listeners through calls. It also records the station’s role in civic education and public participation, helping connect the people who make decisions with the people affected by them.
Community radio is also about opportunity. Bus Radio’s objectives include business education, space for local talent, and a platform through which smaller enterprises can introduce their work.
The result is a station rooted in a place, with conversations that can reach listeners far beyond it through online broadcasting.
