Coming together when community needs it most
Bus Radio’s February 2026 outreach report records support for 50 beneficiaries through the Safaricom@25 Popote Ulipo initiative.

Community radio reaches beyond the airwaves when local people and partners come together around a shared need. Bus Radio’s February 2026 report documents the Safaricom@25 Popote Ulipo outreach in Kajiado, with support from Safaricom PLC and Dial A Radio.
The station’s report records 50 beneficiaries, with selection focused on older people, women and persons with disabilities. It describes the outreach in the context of drought and pressure on household food security in the county.
Alongside the food drive, the report records a donation of 10 smartphones to selected recipients who did not have access to a smartphone. Representatives from the participating organisations joined the community activity.
For Bus Radio, the initiative reflects a practical part of community media: connecting listeners, local knowledge and people willing to help. The station thanked Safaricom and Dial A Radio and called for continued support for vulnerable communities.
This account is drawn from Bus Radio’s February 2026 CSR report. The figures describe that documented initiative, rather than a current appeal or a running total.
