Effective local projects begin with listening. Bus Radio can help your organisation understand local questions, explain its work in accessible language and make room for community feedback.
Broadcasting in Swahili and Maa, rooted in Kajiado Town and the everyday concerns of the communities we serve.
Listener calls, studio discussions and field interviews give communities a part in shaping the conversation.
We bring together radio storytelling, local knowledge and community engagement to support a project beyond a single broadcast.

Field reporting connects pastoralists, farmers and local expertise around climate and livelihoods.

Discuss this approachCombine local-language broadcasts, community dialogue, field reporting and digital stories around a shared social goal.
Discuss this approachHelp strengthen journalism clubs, mentoring and practical media learning for young people in Kajiado.
Discuss this approachPlan sustained work across health, inclusion, gender equality, livelihoods or climate resilience, with time to listen and learn.
Discuss this approachFunded social impact partnerships are an important part of Bus Radio’s sustainability. Support can resource production, local-language storytelling, field engagement and the people who keep community radio on air. Together, we can agree a scope and budget that serves the project and sustains the local platform behind it.
We start with the community and agree what success should mean before the work begins.
Discuss your goals, the communities involved, local context and the questions people want answered.
Agree the formats, languages, roles, timeline and budget, including the evidence and feedback we will collect.
Build in broadcast records, participation feedback and a project review. Set outcome measures that fit the work, without treating airtime as proof of social change.
Planning work in Kajiado County? Tell us about your organisation, the community you want to work with and the change you hope to support.
We welcome conversations with local and international NGOs, foundations, development organisations, public institutions and corporate social impact teams.
Partnership activities and funding are agreed transparently. Our commitment to accuracy, dignity and independent journalism remains central to the work.
