Climate conversations, close to home
Field interviews and local knowledge bring farming, pastoralism and climate adaptation into the same conversation.

For communities whose livelihoods depend on livestock, crops, water and grazing land, climate reporting has a local starting point. Bus Radio’s community work brings these experiences into discussions about adaptation and sustainable livelihoods.
The station’s company profile describes Olaramatani Odupa as an agriculture and pastoralism programme for farmers and pastoralists. Its climate objectives include practical community education, discussion of environmental policy, and information about sustainable business practices.
That work also takes place outside the studio. The archive records visits to farmers, field interviews and conversations about challenges such as invasive weeds. The station’s 2026 World Radio Day report adds engagement with local meteorological expertise and traditional weather forecasters.
Radio provides a meeting point for these different forms of knowledge. A farmer’s experience can inform an interview, and a specialist’s explanation can give listeners a new question to ask.
This feature describes Bus Radio’s documented climate and livelihood focus. It is not a weather forecast or an agricultural advisory.
