Some of the most useful radio questions begin in the field. Bus Radio’s CSR projects report records a farmer education initiative carried out with Kilimo Media in 2019.

The initiative focused on invasive Ipomea weed and sustainable farming practices. According to the report, it combined on-location interviews with farmers and radio programmes addressing the same issues over a month.

The archive includes a farming learning visit in Kitui and a visit to the Osupuko Women Group in Purko ward to discuss the weed challenge. These activities connected the station’s broadcast work with conversations on the ground.

The account illustrates how community reporting can move between studio discussion and local observation. The experience of farmers helps shape which questions are put to guests and what information listeners need.

This is historical project coverage drawn from the station’s archive, not a current farming treatment recommendation.
